Anna is a Patent Specialist at Own Innovation. She graduated from Western Law in 2025 with a specialization in Intellectual Property, Information, and Technology Law, and joined Own full time after articling with the firm.

Anna supports patent filing and prosecution, patentability searching, and IP strategy, and assists with responses to Canadian and U.S. office actions. She works with start-ups and other innovative clients to protect their IP assets as they grow, and has experience with trademark searching. She is particularly interested in international patent work.

She also researches domestic and global IP policy, with a focus on healthcare and other critical technologies and their effect on innovation and Canadian IP protection.

Before law school, Anna completed an Honours Life Sciences degree at McMaster University, specializing in Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour.

Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, sports, writing, and photography.
