John’s practice covers all areas of intellectual property with an emphasis on patent drafting and prosecution. 

Before entering the legal profession, John worked as an engineer for several years in the aerospace industry, where he developed a strong foundation in engineering principles and innovation. His unique blend of technical knowledge and legal proficiency enables him to provide strategic counsel to clients navigating complex patent landscapes.

John obtained his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School. Additionally, he holds a bachelor of engineering in Aerospace Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). Prior to joining Own Innovation, John worked in-house at a leading medical device company, drafting and prosecuting patents for cutting-edge technologies.
